Hacker gets into agency website

A hacker over the weekend managed to redirect the Spokane-based Sirti.org website to an Iranian web page. The Sirti site was replaced by a landing page with the phrase “Hacked by F-B-I”; it then redirected the browser to an Iranian site, said Linda Hemingway, Sirti director of market development and communications. Sirti’s information technology coordinator installed a security upgrade that halted the hack, Hemingway said. “None of our information was breached,” she added, noting that the only impact was redirecting the Sirti site to an overseas website. Sirti is a state agency that provides innovation and business support services for tech companies in the Inland Northwest.
