Officer Ashley Brown of SCRAPS holds a Yorkshire terrier she freed from a locked car on Saturday in a parking lot in Spokane Valley as she calls a local veterinarian to examine the dog.

Brown climbs onto a car to unlock it through the sunroof and free a dog left in the car in a parking lot in Spokane Valley. It took her only a few minutes to unlock the car and release the dog, which was panting and shaking, signs that the heat was beginning to affect it.
