Baseball notebook: Manny lands on DL again

Associated Press
Manny Ramirez is back on the disabled list for the third time this season. The Los Angeles Dodgers slugger has a strained right calf and has been out since leaving Friday’s game at St. Louis in the first inning with tightness in his calf. The team made the move after Ramirez underwent an MRI exam. Ramirez could be out about three weeks. Ramirez was hitless in three at-bats last Thursday against the Cardinals in his first game since returning from the DL with a strained right hamstring. He went on the DL for the first time from April 23-May 8 with a strained right calf, although the team said his current injury isn’t related to that one.

Torre to decide future with Dodgers soon

With his contract expiring this season, Joe Torre says he’ll decide in the next month or so whether to continue his managerial career with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He turned 70 last Sunday, but Torre says age won’t have any bearing in his decision.
