Church presents ‘Laugh’

Dramatic Difference Ministries will perform, “He Makes Me Laugh,” a one-act play about Abraham and Sarah, Sunday at 6 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 6528 N. Monroe St.

Admission for the play is free.

Picnic and karaoke

Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N. Nevada St., will present a picnic and karaoke party Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.

Hot dog, chips and a drink can be purchased for $2; a German sausage, chips and a soft drink will be $3. The karaoke is free and will include Christian and pop songs.

The proceeds will benefit the Latah Valley Presbyterian Church plant fund.

Donations will also be accepted.

Vacation Bible school

Spokane First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 N. Country Homes Blvd., will present “Deep Sea Adventure,” a Vacation Bible School Monday through July 30 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Children 4 years old through the sixth grade are invited to play games, sing songs, meet new friends, make crafts and eat snacks.

An evening for the whole family is planned for Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be free hot dogs and family games.

Summer concert

The final summer concert at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8441 N. Indian Trail Road, will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The band Just Plain Darin will perform.

Attendees should bring their own chairs and blankets for this outdoor concert, plus a picnic dinner or dessert.

Buddhism lecture

The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., will present the Rev. Laverne Sasaki Saturday at 7 p.m.

Sasaki will speak on American Buddhism. She will also present the Dharma talk Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service, “Obon, Obon, It’s More Than a Festival.”

Admission for the Saturday discussion is $10.
