Ticket to safety

If the local governments want to raise revenue, why don’t they start enforcing traffic laws? One cannot drive on any street or highway in this area without a vast majority of drivers speeding.

If someone drives the speed limit they get tailgated, yelled at, flipped off and other forms of attempted intimidation. Maybe if the laws were enforced, drivers would get the message and slow down, even if a cop is not in sight.

I see people put their and other lives in danger just to save a few seconds. Drivers need to stop being in such a hurry. Saving 10, 20 or 30 seconds or even one or five or 10 minutes will not make a significant change in one’s life.

Why do we have speed limits anyway? Safety, the most dominant reason I can think of. It seems to me if I am driving on Hamilton at 30 mph it would be much easier to stop if a child ran out into the street than if I were doing 45. Sometimes I wonder how many other laws these people ignore. Tax law? Ethical business practices?
