Willis, Morgan buddy up for ‘Cop Out’

Bruce Willis, left, and Tracy Morgan star in “Cop Out.”
Philadelphia Inquirer

“Cop Out”: Bruce Willis, Tracy Morgan and a host of supporting actors labor through this derivative buddy-cop comedy set in Brooklyn. Nonstop high jinks, not too many laughs. (1:50; R for language, sexual references, violence and sexuality) • •

“The Runaways”: Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart are memorable as Cherie Currie and Joan Jett, the underage girls with guitars who fronted the influential 1970s group The Runaways. Though made with considerable skill and nuance by music-video director Floria Sigismondi, the film fails to transcend the hoary doomed-rocker tropes. (1:45; R for language, drug use and sexual content – all involving teens) • • 1/2

“The Losers”: Over-the-top carnage-fest based on the comic book of the same name, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan (“Watchmen”), Chris Evans (“Fantastic Four”) and Zoe Saldana (“Avatar”). With exploding copters, cars and jets, and Jason Patric as the miscast, kind-of-comic villain. (1:38; PG-13 for violence, language) • •
