Credentials favor Siddoway
The Court of Appeals race between Judge Lauri Siddoway and Harvey Dunham presents a stark choice.
Lauri Siddoway has practiced law in Spokane for over 20 years, and was a premier litigator, prosecuting appeals before the Court of Appeals, state Supreme Court and federal courts of appeal. She is ranked “extremely well qualified,” the highest possible ranking, by each organization examining her judicial credentials. She is endorsed by most of the Superior and appellate court judges and by substantially all the leading attorneys here.
The bar association selection committee didn’t rate Dunham as “qualified” when he sought a District Court judgeship. It doesn’t appear he has ever prosecuted an appeal in the Court of Appeals or state Supreme Court. Has he ever even tried a Superior Court jury trial? He is endorsed by almost no attorneys or judges – the people that know by observation and experience who is qualified to serve as an appellate court judge. In short, Dunham isn’t qualified by experience, demonstrated ability or standing in the legal community to be an appellate court judge.
To preserve the high quality of our judiciary, please vote to retain Judge Lauri Siddoway on the Division III Court of Appeals.
