Faces of Hope

• For the past two years, Spokane photographer Ashley Potter has been working with the ISAAC Foundation to create a calendar and exhibit featuring children who have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.

• In addition to her work as a photographer, Potter is a pediatric speech therapist who has been working with autistic children for more than a decade.

• The ISAAC Foundation is a nonprofit agency that provides financial assistance to families who struggle to pay for the therapy interventions needed to treat their children with an autism spectrum disorder.

• The photo exhibit opens Monday at the Kress Gallery, located behind the atrium cafes on level 3 of River Park Square in downtown Spokane. An artist’s reception will take place Aug. 6 as part of the First Friday Art Walk.

• Faces of Hope is also launching a casting call. Any child from birth to 18 years old diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder – even if they have never received an ISAAC Foundation grant – can be part of Faces of Hope. Families interested in participating in the 2011 calendar and exhibit are asked to contact Potter by e-mail at ashley@ashleypotterphotography.com
