In brief: Seniors to get free ice cream socials

SPOKANE VALLEY – Valley Meals on Wheels will continue to honor local seniors with free ice cream socials at two of its Senior Lunch Program sites.

Ice cream sundaes will be served at Edgecliff Neighborhood Center, 6903 E. Fourth Ave., on Aug. 10, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

On Aug. 19, seniors can enjoy ice cream at Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines Road, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

SPOKANE VALLEY – The public is invited to participate in a community meeting Aug. 3 to evaluate how well the city of Spokane Valley complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Citizens are invited to share their experiences with the current level of access to city programs and services, including sidewalks and parking.

The meeting will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in City Hall, 11707 E. Sprague Ave. For more information, contact Mary May at (509) 720-5320.
