Tree care memorable

I was so sorry to read about Dan Treecraft (July 18).

Many years ago I had a much-loved corkscrew willow that had a fatal case of canker. An arborist gave me Dan’s number and he came over to take a look.

When he saw how much I loved the tree he spent all afternoon cutting out the deadwood so I could have it one more year. He charged only $75 for the job and I’ve had fond memories of the man who loves trees as much as I do.

I wish him a good journey, whatever he decides.
