Spokane teen charged after injury crash

A recent high school graduate was charged with vehicular assault following a Saturday night collision that injured five people.

A Washington State Patrol report says Cheyenne L. Drinkhall, 18, plowed her 1994 Jeep Cherokee into another car on U.S. Highway 395 four miles north of Deer Park.

The driver of the second car, Oscar J. Perry, 64, of Springdale, Wash., was taken by ambulance to Providence Holy Family Hospital, as were two other people in his car, a 57-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy.

A third passenger in Perry’s car, 18-year-old Brittany E. Ostlund, of Spokane, was airlifted by Medstar to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. She was listed in satisfactory condition Sunday night.

Drinkhall, who lives in Spokane, was treated for unspecified injuries at Holy Family. She had been released by early Sunday.

The accident occurred when Drinkhall tried to turn off Highway 395 onto Wallbridge Road, where Perry’s 2002 Volkswagen Golf was stopped, the WSP said.
