Obama set to help Murray with fundraiser appearance

OLYMPIA – President Barack Obama is headlining a fundraiser for Sen. Patty Murray on primary day next month.

Murray’s campaign says Obama is coming to Washington state Aug. 17 to talk about jobs and the economy. He’ll also appear at a fundraiser for Murray, who is running for a fourth term in the Senate.

Murray’s top challenger is Republican Dino Rossi, who twice ran unsuccessfully for governor. It will be Obama’s first visit to the state as president. He stopped here while campaigning for the office in 2008.
