Bandits fall to Kelso at state
Jake Look homered Thursday to help Kelso to an 8-6 win over the Spokane Bandits at the American Legion baseball State AAA tournament at Selah, Wash.
Josh Martin had a two-run double and Beau Bozett added two RBIs for the Bandits, who play Kennewick at noon today in a loser-out game.
Golf
Andrew Putnam of University Place, Wash., holds a five-shot lead heading into today’s final round of the 44th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship at Eugene (Ore.) Country Club.
Putnam, who competes for Pepperdine University, stands at 6-under-par 207.
Chris Williams (Moscow High) of the University of Washington stands in 29th at 220.
• Gonzaga University senior-to-be Kyle Huus shot a final-round 1-over 72 to finish tied for fifth at 292 at the 102nd Nebraska Amateur Championship at Omaha, Neb.
