‘Clash’ remake as cheesy as 1981 original
“Clash of the Titans”: A cheesy remake of the even cheesier 1981 ancient Greece adventure, about Perseus’ epic quest to end Hades’ reign of terror and broker a peace deal between gods and man. Sam Worthington (“Avatar”) does Perseus with an Aussie accent, and bearded and bewigged Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes spar as Zeus and Hades, respectively. (1:50; PG-13 for violence, frightening images and sensuality) • • 1/2
“Repo Men”: Jude Law and Forest Whitaker star in this cyber-noir with its blunt satiric edge, blunter surgical instruments and stomach-churning surgical procedures. It imagines a future where consumers buy human organs on the installment plan; if they don’t pay on time, the (often vital) organs are jacked and resold. (1:51; R for bloody violence, grisly images, language and sexuality/nudity) • 1/2
