Restaurant employee hurt in armed robbery

Armed robbers assaulted two Spokane Burger King employees as the restaurant closed about midnight Wednesday.

The men bound one employee with duct tape after confronting him at the garage bins, then went inside the restaurant at 1723 N. Division St. with a gun and knife and demanded money.

One employee was injured, but the wounds were not serious, police said.

The robbers fled on foot west through an alley. A K-9 was unable to follow a trail.

Police released no information on suspect descriptions and weren’t sure if there were two or three robbers, said Officer Jennifer DeRuwe.
