Bandits stay alive

Beau Bozett had four RBIs, including a two-run, go-ahead single in the fifth inning, as the Spokane Bandits defeated the Kennewick Bandits 13-11 Friday in loser-out play at the State AAA American Legion tournament at Selah, Wash.

Garrick Little went 3 for 3 for Spokane, which banged out 18 hits.

Relief pitcher Jordan McInnis, who entered with the bases loaded and two out in the ninth, coaxed a game-ending fly to left field.

• University moved on and Mt. Spokane was eliminated at the State AA American Legion tournament in Anacortes, Wash.

Austin Sturgis threw a complete-game nine-hitter as University defeated Lewis County 5-1. Mt. Spokane lost to Burlington, which is unbeaten at the tournament, 18-4.

U-Hi plays Burlington at 1 p.m. today.

Golf

University of Washington sophomore Chris Williams of Moscow, Idaho, finished 15th at the 44th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship at Eugene (Ore.) Country Club.

Williams shot a 2-under 69 to finish at 5-over 289.

Pepperdine’s Andrew Putnam of University Place, Wash., won the tournament by four shots at 7-under 277.

Men’s basketball

Sophomore wing Jordan Call of Juanita High in Kirkland, Wash., has transferred from Whitworth University to Northwest University in Kirkland.

Call played in 13 games for the Pirates last season.

Soccer

Spokane Black Widows midfielder Marissa Mykines (Mead High) made the first team and forward Tiara Pittman (Mt. Spokane High) earned second-team honors on the Women’s Premier Soccer League All-Pacific team.

The Black Widows finished the season 6-5-1.
