Camper’s gun death appears accidental
A Chewelah, Wash., man died early Sunday after apparently shooting himself in the head accidentally while camping on the North Fork of Chewelah Creek with family and friends.
The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office said it received a 911 call about 12:48 a.m. reporting the incident north of Chewelah. Jeremy J. Grubb, 29, was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chewelah, where he was pronounced dead.
The Stevens County coroner has requested an autopsy as part of the investigation, which continues.
