Swinton, Lee shut out Lewis-Clark State
LEWISTON – Scott Swinson tossed a four-hitter and Lee University took advantage of some costly mistakes by the Lewis-Clark State defense in an 8-0 win at the 54th NAIA World Series at LCSC’s Harris Field on Monday night.
Swinson, a senior right-hander, shut down a Warriors offense that averaged 8.2 runs and hit .306 during the season and came into the tournament the No. 1 seed and the NAIA’s top-ranked team.
LCSC (48-4) plays a loser-out game today at 3 p.m. against Embry-Riddle (46-18), which ousted Belhaven 8-4 Monday.
Also Monday, Point Loma Nazarene eliminated California Baptist 7-6 and Cumberland beat Oklahoma City 8-1.
