Men still at large in Spokane armed car theft

From Staff Reports

Spokane police on Tuesday found a Mitsubishi Lancer that had been stolen at gunpoint during a dispute over loud music at a fast food drive-through.

But the men who stole it are still at large. They are described as large, white and bald.

The men were waiting at McDonald’s, 909 W. Indiana Ave., in a white, four-door sedan at 2:58 a.m. Monday when the Mitsubishi occupied by two other men pulled in behind playing loud music, police said.

After one of the bald men yelled to turn the music down, the men got out of the Mitsubishi and confronted them. They retreated when one of the bald men displayed a handgun, police said.

The men ordered the victims out of the car before driving off – one in the car they arrived in and one in the victims’ vehicle. The Mitsubishi was found about 1:30 p.m. in a vacant lot in the area of 1800 W. Boone Ave.

Its stereo was stolen.
