Some Idaho forest fees waived this weekend

The Spokesman-Review
The Idaho Panhandle National Forests will waive entrance fees on Saturday and Sunday for day-use areas that are not part of larger campgrounds. In addition, the St. Joe Ranger District will waive fees at the following recreation sites: Emerald Creek, Shadowy St. Joe, Cedar Creek, Tim Can and Turner campgrounds. Fees will be waived at the Clarkia Bunkhouse on Saturday only. The goal of the free days is to encourage use of public lands, according to a Forest Service news release. Fees are charged on only 2 percent of national forests and grasslands, and more than two-thirds of developed recreation sites can be used for free.
