Driver, passenger hurt in crash near Athol

By The Spokesman-Review

Two men were injured Saturday in a rear-end crash on Highway 95 near Athol.

According to the Idaho State Police, a 1981 Pontiac Bonneville driven by John G. Watson, 81, of Sagle, Idaho, was stopped on the highway waiting to turn left onto Heath Lake Road, when it was rear-ended by a southbound 1991 Buick Century.

The driver of that vehicle, Luke Ringhand, 21, was cited for inattentive driving, the ISP said. Ringhand was transported by ambulance to Bonner County General Hospital. His passenger, Caleb Ringhand, was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. Both were treated and released, a nursing supervisor said.

Watson was not injured. All involved were wearing seat belts.
