Crash hospitalizes motorcycle driver

By The Spokesman-Review

A 62-year-old Spokane man was injured after his motorcycle crashed into a median on Interstate 90 near the Idaho state line Tuesday.

According to the Idaho State Police, Kenneth E. Flaming was westbound on a 2002 Harley-Davidson about 3:25 p.m., when for unknown reasons he drove from the right lane across to the left lane of traffic and crashed into the median.

Flaming crashed into a traffic sign support and the motorcycle overturned, ISP said. It was not known if he was wearing a helmet, or if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Flaming was still being evaluated at Kootenai Medical Center for his injuries, and his condition had not yet been determined Tuesday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
