Crash during hailstorm injures two

The Spokesman-Review

Two people were injured Wednesday in a three-car collision during Wednesday’s hailstorm on U.S. 95 near Cocolalla, Idaho.

Dennis M. McShane, 57, of Clark Fork, was northbound at about 4:25 p.m., when his 2004 Toyota pickup pulling a loaded 12-foot trailer encountered the hailstorm and lost control, the Idaho State Police said.

The truck crossed two lanes of traffic, striking a southbound 2001 Chevy Tahoe driven by Waldo H. Copley, 73, of Sagle, causing the Tahoe to roll.

McShane’s truck continued down the road without a left front tire, and struck another vehicle driven by Mitchell A. Shockley, of Careywood. McShane and Shockley were not injured.

Copley and his passenger, Barbara J. Copley, 69, were both transported to Bonner General Hospital with unknown injuries.
