Spokane pools opening

Passes available for low income children

Now that most students are out of class for the summer, City of Spokane pools are opening for business beginning today. Open swim hours for all pools except the Witter Pool will be from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1 to 7 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Open swim at Witter Pool will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1 to 7 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $1 for children and $2 for adults. Season passes are $30 for children and $60 for adults. There are sponsored swim passes available for low income children. Applications are available at all pool locations. Parents will be required to show proof of income. There are 600 passes available. Pool locations are: Cannon Pool, 1900 W. Mission; Comstock Pool, 600 W. 29th; Hillyard Pool, 2600 E. Columbia; Liberty Pool, 1300 E. Fifth; Shadle Pool, 2005 W. Wellesley; and Witter Pool, 1300 E. Mission. For more information call the Parks and Recreation Pool Hotline at 625-6960. City of Spokane Valley pools will not open until Saturday. Open swim hours are from 1-3:30 and 4-6 p.m. daily at 11123 E. Mission (Valley Mission), 13525 E. 24th (Terrace View) and 906 N. Park Road (Park Road). Admission is $1 per person. Children 5 and under are free with a paying adult and on weekends children under 12 are free with a paying adult.
