Barker Road Bridge open to traffic

Two year closure is over
By The Spokesman-Review

After two years of construction, the Barker Road Bridge in Spokane Valley opened to traffic at 5 p.m. Monday.

The contractor, Morgen and Oswood Construction of Great Falls, Mont., still has to remove a work bridge that is blocking river access. In an interview last week cosntruction company president Greg Oswood said he anticipates having the work bridge removed by July 9.

There is a reduced speed limit of 20 mph in place over the bridge until the last of the work is complete.
