It’s time to break out the swimsuits. The three Spokane Valley pools will open for the season on Saturday.

Improvements and upgrades in recent years mean that all three pools have something unique to offer. Valley Mission Pool, 11123 E. Mission Ave., has a zero-depth entry pool. The Terrace View Pool at 13525 E. 24th Ave. has a lazy river feature. The Park Road Pool at 906 N. Park Road has a plunge slide.

Open swim times for all pools are from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. daily. There’s an additional open swim time from 6:15 to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays at all three pools. Terrace View and Park Road pools will have open swim from 6:15 to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from June 28 to July 30. On Wednesdays only Terrace View will have open swim from 6:15 to 8 p.m. from June 28 to July 30. The Valley Mission and Park Road pools will have the late open swim session from 6:15 to 8 p.m. on weekdays after Aug. 2.

Each pool also has times set aside for swim lessons and adult swim sessions that vary by pool and date. A complete schedule is available online at www.spokane valley.org. Swim lessons will be offered from June 28 to July 8 for $30 per child. Registration forms will be available at the pools.

Admission is $1 per person. Children age 5 and younger will be admitted free with a paying adult. On the weekends children age 12 and younger are free with a paying adult. A pass good for 25 visits is available for $20. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at (509) 688-0300.

The city of Spokane Valley also has teamed with Spokane Valley Partners to offer swimming passes good for six visits to low-income children under age 17. All children who live in the area east of Havana Street to the Idaho border are eligible. Parents need to contact Steve Brown at Spokane Valley Partners at (509) 927-1153 to apply for a pass. Proof of income, identification and proof of residency will be required.
