Judge, jury and columnist

The Spokesman-Review

Doug Clark’s column of June 8 states, “By now anyone who reads my column should know what happened that terrible day in 2006.”

So, are the readers of Doug Clark’s column supposed to believe that Doug was there? Are we supposed to feel that Doug knows all that occurred between Otto Zehm and Officer Thompson? No, I don’t think so.

Doug wants everyone to feel that he is the one person, more than anyone else, that should adjudicate this case. Again, I don’t think so.

Let the judges, attorneys, depositions and ultimately the jurors make their decisions after doing their jobs and upholding their responsibilities. I believe these are the courses of due process.
