Interstate will be shut down in both directions 7:30 to 9 p.m. for blasting

The Spokesman-Review
Interstate 90 on the east side of Snoqualmie Pass will close tonight to traffic in both directions from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. to allow for rock blasting. The closure is part of a larger project to improve I-90 to three lanes from Hyak to Keechelus Dam over the next several years. Short-term blasting closures are expected during evening hours on Mondays and Thursdays during the next several months. Backups of a mile or two are anticipated. In addition, nighttime travel will be restricted to one lane in each direction tonight through Saturday morning. The restrictions will run from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. each night. Loads wider than 12 feet are prohibited during those hours as well tonight through Saturday morning. I-90 is also closed to bicycle travel between Hyak and the Stampede Pass interchange at milepost 62. The John Wayne Pioneer Trail provides an alternate route.
