Two killed in rollover crash

It was a busy Father’s Day weekend for the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, which responded to several incidents, including a fatal traffic accident, a stranded boater, a domestic violence dispute and a high-speed chase.

In a media release, Sheriff Brett Myers elaborated:

•At about 1:30 Sunday morning, a 2005 Dodge Stratus drove off Winona South Road just outside LaCrosse, Wash., and rolled several times.

The driver, Christopher A. Glowen, 38, of Spokane Valley, and the passenger, Yvonne M. Weed, 28, of Spokane, likely died instantly, according to Myers. Glowen was thrown from the car; Weed was found inside the car. She was wearing a seat belt. Speed and alcohol might have been factors. An investigation continues.

•Also on Sunday morning, about 1 a.m., sheriff’s deputies found a stranded boater on the Snake River. The boat and the boater were towed to Boyer Park Marina near Colfax.

•On Saturday morning, sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint at the campground at Nisqually John Landing, located about 15 miles west of Clarkston. Brent A. Glass, 37, was arrested for fourth-degree assault and malicious mischief. After sheriff’s officers discovered he’d swallowed 30 Valiums, Glass was evaluated by mental health professionals before being booked into the Whitman County Correctional Facility.

•On Saturday afternoon, just outside Tekoa, Danny R. Robichaud, 45, led a sheriff’s deputy on a two-mile chase at speeds of more than 90 mph. He was charged with driving under the influence and felony eluding of a law enforcement officer.
