An 80-year-old man who walked away from a Priest River, Idaho, residence early Tuesday morning was found dead later in the day.
Willard Jensen, who was visiting the area from Oklahoma, suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and was unfamiliar with the community, according to a news release from the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office. He was last seen 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at the home of relatives in the 6100 block of East River Road. His body was found around 3 p.m. about 1/3 a mile away by a helicopter crew from the 36th Rescue Squadron from Fairchild Air Force Base, police said.
The case remains under investigation, police said.
