Summer weather continues into next week

Don’t worry about those clouds this morning. The National Weather Service is promising dry and warm weather for the next several days as summer weather settles across the Inland Northwest. High and mid-altitude clouds are part of a weak low pressure area that is expected to move eastward out of the area today, setting the stage for even nicer weather on Saturday and Sunday. The season’s first real hot spell is possible on Monday when highs reach into the middle and upper 80s. Temperatures today and Saturday should rise to the upper 70s. Clouds today will likely be gone by tonight. Hoopfest weekend in Spokane should bring some of the nicest weather of the year with highs reaching the middle 80s on Sunday. The warmest day of the year so far is expected on Monday with the high reaching 87. After that, a weak low pressure area may bring clouds and a slight chance of showers along with a bit of cooling. Tuesday’s high is forecast at 83 in downtown Spokane. Thursday’s high in Spokane was 81, which came after Wednesday’s high of 80. It was the first time this year of back to back highs in the 80s. At 7 a.m. today, it was 63 at Spokane International Airport and Felts Field, 61 in Coeur d’Alene, 57 in Deer Park and 59 in Pullman.
