24 marketing, DECA students graduate at Central Valley

The Marketing Education and DECA program at Central Valley High School, recently saw 24 of its students graduate.

They recently developed business plans and presented them to their parents and members of the community. They also competed in the Entrepreneurship Written Event at the State DECA competition.

Joe Britt was selected as the DECA student of the year at CV.

The graduates are Michael Kilduff, Nick Pendergrass, Ben Sauther, Tanner Markham, Sydney Hamilton, Carissa Balmes, Sara Hemenway, Brooke Jackson, Kassie Panther, Kevin Schell, Daniel Willard, Nathan Pederson, Erich Graff, Markus Heintz, Sam Neumann, Kelsey Gruis, Rebecca Kissack, Patrick McNeil, Scottie Johnson, Tarik Jensen, Shaun Monaghan, Nate Hommel, Dan Hays and Joe Britt.

The group’s adviser is Robin Barnhart.

Relay for Life

A team of 16 staff members, students and parents from Broadway Elementary School in the Central Valley School District recently participated in the “Relay for Life,” a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

The group raised $1,595.21. Much of the funds raised were collected during a school-wide penny drive sponsored by the school’s student council.
