Body found in High Bridge Park
Spokane police are responding to a body found under the Sunset Boulevard bridge over Latah Creek in High Bridge Park.
The body was discovered in High Bridge Park about 10:30 a.m. by passers-by.
Parts of the park will be closed through most of the afternoon, said Jennifer DeRuwe, a police spokeswoman. The pedestrian walkway of Sunset Boulevard is closed, though the road is open to traffic.
Firefighters quickly determined the person was deceased. The scene now is being handled by police.
Officers are waiting for police detectives to begin an investigation and the medical examiner.

The body is located next to a south side bridge pier on the western bank of Latah Creek.
Every unattended death is treated as suspicious, said Officer Tim Moses.
