Fair attendance to suffer

The Spokesman-Review

I see where the county commissioners are considering raising the price of admission to the fair this year. They claim based on last year’s attendance it would generate $204,000. You guys better go back and sharpen your pencil! In a down economy you want to raise prices? A year after a criminally insane killer escaped at the fair you want to raise prices? Are you really that naive to think you can raise prices and get the same attendance?

Golly gosh all retailers should do that. Idaho tried the same thing with out-of-state hunting licenses. Ask them how that worked out for them. I don’t think I’m alone in saying enough is enough. I am not willing to pay $20 for my wife and I just to walk through the gate of the same old, same old thing as the last 20 years.

I’ll write you an I-told-you-so editorial in September.
