After a back-and-forth first half in which both teams torched the nets with hot shooting, the Trojans stayed the course in the second half to defeat the Grizzlies.

Pe Ell, which shot 42 percent and hit five 3-pointers in the first half, made more than 52 percent in the second while Bear Creek fell off to 26 percent.

Entiat used a furious fourth-quarter comeback to force overtime and then outscored the Panthers 7-3 in the extra period to keep its title hopes alive.

The Tigers, who trailed 53-37 after three quarters, opened the fourth with 11 unanswered points to get back in contention

Angel Paz, a 5-foot-9 guard, keyed the Tigers’ comeback by knocking down four 3-pointers, including one that tied the game at 59 with 9 seconds left in regulation and forced OT.

Senior guard Joey Bisson scored a game-high 21 points and teammate Tyler Savini added 16 – five on free throws in the final 43 seconds – as Chief Leschi held off the Vikings.

The Warriors, who also got five points and a game-high 10 rebounds from junior center Michael Wallace, survived despite shooting just 28.1 percent (16 for 57) from the field.

Colfax had no answer for the inside play of Liberty Christian’s Cody Brockman, who dumped in a game- and tournament-high 29 points in leading the Patriots to a first-round win.

Brockman, a 6-foot-3 senior, snaked his way inside the Bulldogs’ defense at will. He finished the night 10 of 14 from the field and made 8 of 11 free throws.

Colfax tied the game at 45 on a 3-pointer by Alex Teade to open the fourth period.

But the Bulldogs then went 61/2 minutes without scoring another field goal.

Colfax trailed 54-52 following a James Robinson 3-pointer with just 48 seconds remaining, but the Bulldogs came no closer.
