In brief: Shock boosters holding garage sale

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Shockwave Booster Club will hold a “garage sale” at Center Pointe Business Park, 300 N. Mullan Road, on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is a fundraiser to help support the Spokane Shock in their upcoming season.

Items in the sale include furniture, housewares, electronics, clothes, baby items, toys, sporting goods, Shock merchandise and collectables.

YWCA ‘Spring Fling’ will be April 10

DOWNTOWN – The YWCA’s fifth annual “Spring Fling” will be held April 10 at Anthony’s Restaurant, 510 N. Lincoln St., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event includes a champagne brunch, trunk show and a silent auction. This event is reserved for ladies only .

All proceeds will support local YWCA’s programs.

Candlelighters event includes fun, games

DIVISION – Bumpers Family Fun Center in the NorthTown Mall will host a phone-a-thon for Candlelighters of the Inland Northwest next Thursday, from 1 to 7 p.m.

DJs for Clear Channel Radio, Cody Carlson and Paul Neumann, along with Candlelighters Director Mary Anne Ruddis, will host the phone-a-thon, to be broadcast on KIX 96. Carlson,

Bumpers Family Fun Center has donated the use of its facility to allow people donating $10 or more to Candlelighters at Bumpers to have access into the arcade, receiving unlimited play on the video games, bumper cars, mini golf and train rides.

Lilac Festival taking parade applications

RIVERSIDE – The Spokane Lilac Festival Association is now accepting applications for the 72nd annual Armed Forces Torchlight Parade.

The parade is open to all nonprofit organizations, subject to approval by the Spokane Lilac Festival Parade Committee, and businesses are encouraged to submit a commercial application for $1,250.
