Pair sought in apartment incident

Spokane police are searching for two known gang members who allegedly held another man at gunpoint Tuesday in an apparent attempted drug robbery.

Wanted are Taveus M. Brown, 30, and Wesley I. Veazie, 22.

The two men are facing charges of first-degree kidnapping and first-degree burglary after allegedly holding a man at gunpoint at an apartment at 2500 E. South Riverton about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.

They allegedly were looking for drugs, said Officer Jennifer DeRuwe, police spokeswoman.

About 4 p.m. Wednesday, SWAT executed a search warrant at a home at 1921 E. Fourth Ave., where Brown and an unidentified woman apparently live.

After bringing the woman out, they believed that Brown was still hiding inside. Officers shot at least three rounds of tear gas into the home in an attempt to bring him out, but the home was empty.
