Techsters defeat Vandals

Adrienne Johnson tossed in a game-high 23 points and Shanavia Dowdell added 11 points and 11 rebounds to guide the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters (20-7, 11-4) to a 63-56 win over the Idaho Vandals (9-19, 7-8) in Western Athletic Conference basketball play Wednesday in Moscow.

Charlotte Otero topped Idaho with 18 points and six assists, while Yinka Olorunnife chipped in 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

Golf

The Washington State women finished last at the 18-team Bruin Wave Invitational in Santa Clarita, Calif.

Emma Betland was the low Cougar with a 22-over-par 238 over 54 holes.

Southern California (866) won the team title by two strokes over Arizona State. Pepperdine’s Danielle Kang was medalist with an 8-under 208.
