Circle of success is vital
EHS (Early Head Start) works at Crosswalk. How I know that this program works comes from my personal experience. I was a very young, nearly homeless teen mom when I came to Crosswalk EHS. My daughter attended EHS while I finished high school downstairs from her. I was also involved with Circle of Security parenting classes held in the back area of where EHS is located and was able to receive housing resources from VOA, which was on the opposite side of the center.
EHS, VOA, Circle of Security classes and Crosswalk high school create a strong stable circle that anyone in need of services can benefit from. Miraculous things happen here every day because of the wrap-around care offered. In fact, I know if these services weren’t in the same facility my daughter and I wouldn’t have survived.
Now I am an educated, currently stay-at-home mother of two. I am raising my children with the knowledge I received from 525 W. Second Ave. I can truly say Spokane helped me by allowing these programs to exist side by side.
So, Spokane, let’s not break this circle of successful downtown resources. If we do, we would be letting our community down.
