In brief: Enjoy chili, bowl for Candlelighters
DISHMAN – Jenny’s Café, 9425 E. Sprague Ave., will hold the third-annual “Bowls of Chili” on Monday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. to benefit Candlelighters of the Inland Northwest.
Jenny’s Café, along with the Candlelighters, Terry Giebar and Gonzaga University’s pottery department, have come together to raise money for children with cancer. Chili and minestrone soup will be served in hand-crafted bowls for $15. Attendees can enjoy a meal, support a good cause, and the one-of-a-kind bowl is theirs to keep.
All proceeds will benefit kids with cancer in the Inland Northwest.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s day with lunch
OPPORTUNITY – Valley Meals on Wheels and Coeur d’Alene Casino will host a St. Patrick’s Day lunch on March 17 at 11 a.m. at Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines Road.
The special event will include entertainment by the Hillyard Belles.

Meals on Wheels adds lunch day
LIBERTY LAKE – Valley Meals on Wheels is expanding its senior lunch program to two days a week in Liberty Lake. Beginning Monday lunch will be served Mondays and Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. at City Hall, 22710 E. Country Vista Drive. There will also be socializing, bingo and monthly birthday parties. Community food bank announces hours
FAIRFIELD – The North Palouse Community Food Bank has announced its hours of operation for March and April. It will be open from 9 a.m. to noon next Saturday and March 27, April 10 and 24. It will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. March 18 and April 15.
The food bank is supported entirely by community donations and serves the communities of Fairfield, Rockford, Latah and Waverly. It is situated behind the Fairfield Fire Station on North Railroad Street. Those with emergency food needs outside of normal operating hours can call (509) 283-4250 or (509) 844-8551.
Registration open for summer baseball
SPOKANE VALLEY – Spokane Valley Baseball League is accepting registration for summer baseball.
To register or download a form, go to www.spokanevalley baseball.com. Registration forms are also available at the Spokane Valley Baseball League office.
