Spokane in brief: Craft fair today at St. Luke’s
EAST CENTRAL – St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, 711 S. Cowley St., will host a craft fair Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The fair will be in the lower level of the hospital and will include handmade items, such as candles, jewelry and soap.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit Children’s Miracle Network.

Urban forest panel needs volunteer
SPOKANE – The Citizen Advisory Committee to the Urban Forest Tree Committee of the Spokane Park Board is looking for a volunteer to fill a member-at-large position. The community committee advises and makes recommendations on the plans and policies concerning Spokane’s urban forestry programs.
The committee is made up of 12 members; eight represent various urban forestry-related organizations, and four fill the member-at-large positions. To apply for the open position, submit a letter of interest to: Leroy Eadie, Director of the Spokane Parks and Recreation Department, City of Spokane Parks and Recreation, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., Spokane, WA 99201.
Chorale to perform on EWU campus
CHENEY – The Spokane Symphony Chorale will perform “Music of Heaven and Earth” in Showalter Auditorium at Eastern Washington University on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The afternoon concert will include a cappella harmony featuring the works of De Victoria, Lotti, Mozart, Bruckner and Stravinsky.
The performance is a benefit for the Spokane Symphony presented by “Cantabile,” the newest chapter of the Spokane Symphony Associates, an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to fundraising for the Spokane Symphony.
The suggested donation is $10 per person.

Neighborhood sale planned Saturday
COMSTOCK – The Manito-Cannon and Comstock neighborhoods will have a garage sale on Saturday at 3905 S. Skyview Drive, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Items for sale include tools, books, furniture and household items. All proceeds will benefit a community garden project called The Commons, which will be located near Sacajawea Middle School. The garden is part of a citywide effort to develop community gardens.

Choices for Cheney plans road shows
CHENEY – Choices for Cheney will present its second series of road shows to discuss the ongoing rewriting of the city’s comprehensive plan.
Residents are invited to visit one of the following locations to provide written feedback regarding a draft of the land-use concept: today through Friday at the Cheney Public Library; Saturday and Sunday at Rosa’s Pizza; Monday and Tuesday at the Eastern Washington University John F. Kennedy Library and Wednesday and March 18 at Cheney Middle School.
