Spokane will be Aggieville

Texas A&M, Utah State and New Mexico State — Aggies all — will be coming to the Spokane Arena for the first and second round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

The NCAA announced the selections on Sunday. Spokane is a pod for the Midwest Region and the South Region.

In the Midwest Region, No. 5-seed Michigan State will play No. 12-seed New Mexico State. No. 4 Maryland plays No. 13 Houston on the other side of the bracket.

In the South Region, No. 5 Texas A&M plays No. 12 Utah State and No. 4 Purdue plays No. 13 Sienna.

The first round will be Friday, the second round Sunday.

    Bit of trivia that my father, a Michigan State alum, is fond of pointing out is that MSU used to be the Michigan Agricultural College. MAC=> MSC (Michigan State College) => MSU

    The Aggies of Michigan. May be the Spartans now, but it is an interesting bit of trivia. And they’re all playing each other.
