Spring-like feel continues today

A spring feel continues again today across the Inland Northwest today with partly sunny skies and highs in the lower 50s today. A system of higher air pressure is creating an early spring feel to the weather today, and that should continue on Tuesday when highs surge into the lower 60s. A band of higher elevation clouds is crossing the region this morning, but forecasters said they do not expect much more than a few sprinkles. The variable clouds are coming from a low pressure system stalled off the Washington coast. Winter has less than a week to go on the calendar. Spring begins on Saturday at 10:32 a.m. The next chance of rain arrives on Tuesday night with between a tenth and quarter inch expected. Weather conditions should improve by the weekend with highs Saturday and Sunday going to the middle 50s under sunny skies. At 7 a.m., temperatures were mostly above the freezing mark. It was 34 at Spokane International Airport, 33 in downtown Spokane, 30 in Coeur d’Alene, 34 in Deer Park and 35 in Pullman.
