Suing Israel senseless

The Spokesman-Review

Amy Goodman’s op-ed piece (March 12) on American parents suing Israel over the accidental death of their daughter makes as much sense as the political views of Iran’s president. In other words, garbage.

Their daughter voluntarily went to a foreign, restricted war zone, failed to heed Israeli warnings to leave, and now the parents are on a mission to “raise awareness of critical issues related to this accident.” The first issue should be why their daughter persisted to be in such a dangerous (especially to foreigners being used by locals) place, and the second – which responsible law firm will now represent the hundreds of Israeli children injured by Arab terrorist rockets fired by Hezbollah and Hamas into homes, farms and schools?

Or how about Israelis suing the Arab families of suicide bombers of buses, cafeterias and cafes? These victims, including many Westerners are innocent and involuntary civilians.

Israel has a right to protect its citizens from terrorists; apparently, some Americans still haven’t gotten the message after 9/11.

Furthermore, do Americans really believe litigation is the ultimate solution to political, social and religious conflicts? Try that methodology in the Muslim dictatorships!
