Arrested Boise State football player Jason Robinson, suspended from the team earlier this month, has been arrested and charged with felony aggravated battery. Police arrested Robinson Monday on a warrant accusing him of causing bodily harm, permanent disability or permanent disfigurement to another person.

Surgery Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Cory Wade will have surgery on his right shoulder and will miss at least three months. Wade pitched in 27 games for the Dodgers last year and had a 5.53 ERA.

•Boston Red Sox minor league prospect Ryan Westmoreland has undergone surgery in Arizona to remove a cavernous malformation in his brain. A brief team statement said Westmoreland remains in the intensive care unit “but has come through the surgery well.”

•Chicago White Sox outfielder Jared Mitchell will miss the 2010 season after surgery on his left ankle. The team said Tuesday that the 21-year-old prospect is expected to make a complete recovery. Mitchell was injured while making an against-the- wall catch against the Los Angeles Angels.

Out Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell will miss seven to eight weeks with a broken collar bone and a fractured rib, the result of a hit from Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin.

Extended Ohio State has added two more years to the contract of football coach Jim Tressel – and has offered him an administrative job when he retires. The contract for the Buckeyes’ nine-year coach now runs through the 2014 season.

Hired Former major league pitcher John Smoltz will work as an analyst for Turner Broad- casting and the MLB Network, although he will not say he’s thrown his final pitch. Smoltz missed more than a year before Boston activated him last June. The Red Sox released him in August and he signed with St. Louis.

Guilty Former major league infielder Chuck Knoblauch has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault on his common-law wife. Knoblauch entered his plea in exchange for deferred-adjudication probation.
