North Idaho teen admits shooting at cars

Associated Press

MOSCOW — A North Idaho teenager has admitted to two counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm at a passenger vehicle and one count of unlawful discharge of a firearm at a truck.

The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports the 14-year-old on Wednesday made the admission, the juvenile court equivalent of pleading guilty.

The teen was arrested in January along with another juvenile who police say shot at vehicles on state Highway 8.

The Latah County Sheriff’s Office said no one was hurt, though at least 20 motorists reported their vehicles being hit.

The gunfire prompted authorities to temporarily close a portion of the rural road between the small towns of Deary and Bovill.

A sentencing date for the teen has not been set.

The ambiance of another “North Idaho Juvenile Does Something Stupid Involving a Gun” story is nothing without any sort of banjo accompaniment. If the S.R. is going to report such things, they need to give us some YouTube montage involving the song “Dueling Banjos.”
