Airport company will stay but limit services to fuel

Felts Field Aviation Inc. will provide fuel service at Felts Field, the general aviation airport in Spokane Valley, for another year.

The company will discontinue other services March 31, but a new agreement with the Spokane International Airport board provides for continued access to self-serve pumps, and fuel transport to hangared planes.

The board, which manages Felts Field airport and Spokane International Airport, will review requirements for a fixed-base operator to replace Felts Field Aviation, according to airports director Neal Sealock. No one responded to a request for proposals that was published last year.

Sealock said the process may take six or seven months.

Airports spokesman Todd Woodard said the review may yield a less extensive list of services that conforms to changes in airport use caused by the economic slowdown. Requirements were last reviewed seven years ago, he said.
