Sun should shine through Saturday

The last day of winter should definitely have a spring feel with sun, light winds and a high near 54. Forecasters said a high pressure system along the west coast will continue its presence through Saturday when highs should reach the upper 50s under a repeat of the sunny skies. Spring begins at 10:32 a.m. on Saturday. The potential for rain arrives on Sunday with a 20 percent chance of showers. Otherwise, Sunday should be mostly cloudy with a high near 56. The threat of showers continues Sunday night through Monday night in the 30- to 40-percent range. At 7 a.m., it was 30 at Spokane International Airport, 28 in downtown Spokane, 27 in Coeur d’Alene, 29 in Deer Park and 21 in Moscow. March is turning out to be dry month. So far, only a third of an inch has been measured at the airport compared with a normal of .90 inches in March through the 19th.
