In brief: Soccer players hosting breakfast today at 8 a.m.

SPOKANE VALLEY – The River City Rapids Boys U-13 Soccer Team will have a pancake breakfast at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill on Pines Road and Mission Avenue from 8 to 10 a.m. today. The time was incorrect in the Valley Voice on Thursday.

Team members will act as servers for the breakfast.

Tickets are $8 per person for the all-you-can-eat breakfast. Proceeds will benefit the team and will be used to pay for tournaments, uniforms and other fees.

Volunteers can receive free tax preparation

LIBERTY LAKE – Liberty Tax Service will reward volunteers who work with nonprofit groups and charities by offering free tax preparation, beginning Monday through March 29.

All individuals who work with Scouting and youth organizations, health nonprofits, food banks and other charities will be eligible for tax fee cuts at Liberty Tax offices in Spokane Valley offices through April 3, for first-time customers.
