Appliance rebates available in Idaho

Idaho residents can get federal cash rebates when they buy more efficient appliances, starting Thursday.

Purchases of energy-saving washers, refrigerators, gas water heaters and other items qualify, said Diane Holt with the Idaho Office of Energy Resources.

The list of appliances that qualify, plus detailed guidelines, can be found at the appliance rebate link at www.energy.idaho.gov.

The state has $1.2 million in federal stimulus funds for the rebates, which range from $25 to $300 based on the appliance. Rebates will be honored until that money runs out, said Holt.
